Organizing...part 1
Things have gotten a little out of hand around here. That's what I get for trying to keep up with 3 part-time jobs and everything else too. It looks like a tornado has gone through and left a messy path. The 3 jobs are finally settling down and will soon be just 1. So...I've been chasing the whirlwind and trying to get things organized. I won't give you a "before" and "after" shot. It's too embarrrassing.
But I did find a fun solution for the art supplies. It's an all-in-one Art Carousel. All you need: a muffin pan (our was from the thrift store) with IKEA cups in them. I thought about using paper cups, but wanted it to hold up better and these cups fit tighter.
Some supply ideas for your art carousel: chalk, scissors, glue, crayons, colored pencils, watercolors, markers, paint brushes.
Jay loves just looking at it and is always asking if we can get it out to play with. {Project Tip:} You can get it all out or just ONE cup of supplies. This way, the potential for a big mess is LESS! :)
My sweet Hubby deserves a lot of credit for the organizing around here. We'll just call him Mr. Clean.
I know of a lot of wives that wish their husbands could help clean more. My Mr. Clean is a dream come true-he lives at my house! I just have to say how much I appreciate his help (and patience!) and how he does the dishes every night.
I've been trying to get to this "little project" for awhile. Mr. Clean did it for me: an organized closet.
He's been out of town for a few days and we are hoping to have a nice organized surprise for him ;)
Back to the art supplies carousel, I like that I can see what we have at a glance. It reminds me that we have more than one medium to work with so art time doesn't get into a rut.
There is a lot of satisfaction in finishing a project, somehow organizing is a SUPER satisfying project. I wish you the best with chasing your tornados too!

I love reading your blog - so many good ideas! I have done the muffin tin organization with art supplies too! It is a wonderful organizational tool. One thing I added was some circle I cut out of magnets to place at the very bottom of the cups. This way the cups "stick" to the muffin tin a little better and there is less of a chance they tip over. You can still take the cups out individually. Thanks for all the neat ideas! I really love them!
Congratulations. I'm looking forward to Part II. I also cannot show pictures of my house right now for shame.
